Whiskey 601 (2015)
About: Whiskey 601 is a naval operations area notorious for foul weather. The ship pictured is HMCS MACKENZIE, now an artificial reef near Sidney B.C. This seascape received inspiration from two sources- a photograph taken by Chris Radimer in 1989 south of Vancouver Island, and excerpts from a novel being written by Winnipeg author Mark Nelson.
This picture was donated to the Royal Canadian Navy – Personnel Coordination Centre in Quebec on 3 August 2016, and is displayed in the unit conference room.
